It’s time to act for Australia’s forests & wildlife

Donate today to create a better future for threatened species & their habitat.

“To me, it’s really obvious that the forests are so important to preserve. We breathe the air that the trees create. We drink the water that comes from the forest. And seeing them destroyed is absolutely heartbreaking.” — Hayley, a surveyor with WOTCH (Wildlife of the Central Highlands).”

WOTCH volunteers regularly head out into the forest at night, with spotlights and thermal imaging equipment, to protect threatened wildlife like the Leadbeater’s possum from the threat of government-sanctioned logging. But they shouldn’t have to be out there at all.

The current system is broken. The laws that are supposed to protect nature are failing to do so. And if nothing changes, native species like the Leadbeater’s Possum could go extinct in our lifetime.

But there is a better way. With a federal election due next year, there’s never been a more crucial time to push for nature laws that work.

Earlier this year, tens of thousands of us took action to secure stronger deforestation laws in Queensland. These laws have made tremendous progress in fixing Queensland’s deforestation crisis. They’re not perfect, but they have begun to slow down the bulldozers. Together, we can do it again nationally—national laws could halt deforestation and protect forests across the country.

You can be a vital part of the campaign to put laws in place that provide life support to our wildlife, and the precious ecosystems they depend on. Donate now to support laws that support life.
